Taylor Swift won the 2018 Billboard Music Award for the Best Female Artist. The awards show was a lavish event held at the MGM Grand Hotel Casino and Resort in Las Vegas.
Swift is one that never disappoints with the outfits she wears for awards shows. This year she commissioned her dress-making to Versace. Group Vice President of the Versace Company, Donatella Versace, personally supervised the work that went into creating the handmade dress.
People reports that Versace said the dress took over 800 hours of meticulous handmade work to create. The dress was a soft pink color decorated with charming and intricate silver filigree plus delicate pink and white feathers. On one side there is a thigh-high opening to reveal one of Swift’s gorgeous legs. There was as much excitement about the dress as there was about Swift winning the award.
Swift is currently on her global tour for the Reputation stadium concert series, where she performed many surprise songs and invited surprise guest artist Selena Gomez to sing with her at one show.
She sings all of the songs from her latest Reputation album and most of her top hits from previous years, from the big concert stage. Then, after that massive performance, she goes behind the main stage to perform for a more intimate group of fans at two of the B-Stages. Some of the other songs Swift sings on the small stages include “Blank Space,” “Dancing With Our Hand Tied,” and “Dress.” She also performs an acoustic version of “Wildest Dreams” on the smaller stage.
Each one of Swift’s shows is slightly different. During her show on Mother’s Day, she gifted her mother by singing “The Best Day,” which is a song about the love between mother and daughter. She also gave a rare live performance of “Fearless.” During a show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, she gave a nice an acoustic performance of “Red” from her 2012 album, saying before the performance that this was her tribute to Pasadena because roses are red.
Fans of Swift have plenty to enjoy at these concerts and the most dedicated ones are following Swift around the world to see the special performances added for each show.
