It looks like Hollywood is rejecting Woody Allen as more names refuse to work with him.
In a story covered by the New York Times during October 2017, Woody Allen is quoted to be warning about a “witch hunt” starting over the allegations being made against Harvey Weinstein for sexual assault. It is almost as if Allen felt guilty himself and knew that the focus would soon become on him and his alleged behavior in the past.
Woody Allen had an affair with his adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn that led to the destruction of his marriage with Mia Farrow. This was made even creepier when he ended up marrying her. After all, he is 35 years older than she is. Soon-Yi Previn was only 21 years old when the affair with Woody Allen began while he was 56 at that time. They got married in 1997, and now have two adopted children.
Woody Allen now has more troubles. He has been accused of being a predator. His stepdaughter, Dylan Farrow accused him publicly on the CBS This Morning show of abusing her when she was younger. Dylan says she finally is able to tell her story and that people believe her.
AVclub reports that one of the believers is now the actor Colin Firth who joins a list of actors that are boycotting working with Woody Allen in the future.
Others actors who worked on Woody Allen films in the past have publicly stated that they will never work with Allen again. These include Timothée Chalamet, Greta Gerwig, David Krumholtz, Rebecca Hall, Ellen Page, and Mira Sorvino.
Colin Firth is known for his appearances in many films including A Single Man, The King’s Speech, Bridget Jones’s Diary, and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was the lead male actor in the 2014 Woody Allen film entitled Magic in the Moonlight, which was a box office disaster that earned just less than $17 million.
Surprisingly, actor Alec Baldwin came to the defense of Woody Allen. Baldwin said it is unfair that other actors have been influenced by what Dylan Farrow said publicly.
